MILO
1972 BROWNELL 26 BASS BOAT
Milo was purchased by her present owner late in the season last year and came to the shop for a few months-long refit that was much-needed - the following is what took place:
- Very heavy, vigorous sanding of the entire boat
- Necessary rot repair of house and trunk cabin, as well as cock pit, deck and deck framing, around hatch openings and engine box
- Replace glass as needed in windshield
- Remove unwanted hardware, radar mast, old electronics, and ancient bimini and frame; old seating and all cushions
- Removed very rusty, but serviceable - 3208 Caterpillar motor for a partial rebuild and also inspect bilge area under motor
- Send out gear, as well
- Replace much of the plumbing and wiring
- New panel, new GPS, radio, antennas, etc...
- Remove old chine rails, install new forward spray rails, repair and re-glass chines
- Pull out running gear and rework strut, strut bearing, intermediate bearing and coupling connections
- Source and install original Brownell bow rail, folding pompanet seats in cockpit, and head unit from a Brownell 24, as well as other miscellaneous hardware
- Have new bimini and sun awning made
- Full paint inside and out using Monourathane with flattener, and Awlgrip non-skid on all deck surfaces
- Sand and fair hull, prep and paint with Monourathane with flattener
- Install reconditioned motor and gear, prop, strut, shaft and new cutlass bearings
